Where We've Been & Where We're Going
ENVI has been through a lot of changes over the past two years. What began in my kitchen is now located in a collaborative and business-oriented co-working space. Going into ENVI’s third year, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on the past two years and the future that I envision.
Personally, 2018 was one of the most challenging years of my life. As ENVI began to grow, personal matters kept piling up. I found myself going into quarter four broke, with nowhere to live, and unbearable anxiety about the future. When I sat down to create my SMART goals for 2019, I was lost. I didn’t want to be my own boss anymore. I wanted to escape from everything I had created. I dropped clients, I worked less, I decided I would give up and get a “real” job. And that’s when a beautiful thing happened.
When I “gave up”, the intense pressure I had put on myself dissipated and the things I enjoyed came back to life. I started designing just to design. I wrote short stories and comedy for fun. I stopped telling myself where I should be and accepted where I currently was. We all look back on photos of ourselves and think we’re skinnier, prettier, and cooler than we ever thought we were in that moment. I’ve decided to look at my present like it’s one of those photos from the past. Call it rose-colored glasses or just a years’ worth of therapy, but when I chose to be happy and proud of myself, everything around me improved.
At the end of Q4, when I got my groove back, I decided to redesign ENVI’s website. After 25 hours of work and with the help of an amazing mobile developer, this new and improved website was born. There are so many things I’m proud of and I hope you take some time to check out all the cool stuff we’ve created!
A Few Things I’m Excited About
Freebies - Not everyone has the budget for social media management. I’m a 25-year-old small business owner, I get it! That’s why I’m glad we’ll be adding more free content for those who need a hand.
Charitable Contributions - I’ve wrestled with how ENVI could give back for a while now. I’m proud to announce that effective January 2019, ENVI will donate a portion of all revenue to Planned Parenthood and the Sierra Club. Two organizations that are very important to myself and all of those fighting for women’s health and the environment.
Case Studies - As a good friend of mine recently told me, “The proof is in the pudding” - whatever that means. Testimonials, although great, just weren’t cutting it. Now we have a whole section dedicated to the awesome work we’ve delivered to our clients.
Updated Services - While I took time to focus on what direction I want ENVI to take, I assessed what we’re the best at and reshaped our services to focus on that. It has always been my goal to make sure we only undertake projects that we can excel at, and these updated services ensure that.
I’m excited for where this year will take myself and ENVI. And I hope you’ll follow along as both of us grow!
